As posted on the Morris County Events site – Just a reminder of what’s happening locally in Morris County for August 17 & 18th.

Back-to-back entertainment extravaganzas are coming to the historic square. On Friday, Aug. 17, at 6 p.m. celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Morristown Green  Film Festival with an evening of music and short comedies by local movie buffs of all ages. Cast your ballot for Best Picture!

On Saturday, Aug. 18, the Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival will serve 10 hours of top musical talent, headlined by five-time Grammy nominee Robben Ford and his trio. The star-studded program also will feature the Jazz Chicks, the Rusty Paul Band, Rob Paparozzi and the Hudson River Rats, and the Jerry Vezza Quartet with special guest Grover Kemble on guitar.

Located at the directly at the Morristown Green. Easy access – RT 287 to Madison Ave exit, to Morristown and follow signs on South Street towards the downtown center.

Measure for Measure. This mercurial masterpiece could have been written yesterday. It is a story for all times and its contemporary relevance is chillingly palpable. This play is an age-old tale of scandal, abuse of power and what happens when repression and profligacy get equally out of balance. Aug. 17th, 7:30 p.m. located at The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, 36 Madison Ave, Madison. Don’t miss a great performance.
