During these dog days of summer, it's especially important to consider the elderly and those who may need assistance. The Morristown Senior Center which is located at the Morristown Town Hall, 200 South Street, 3rd floor, Morristown - provides a place to get relief from the heat. This 'Cooling Center  is open from 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. when temperatures reach 90 degrees or more. For additional details, please go the Morristown's official website - www.townofmorristown.org.

Remember:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Stop by your local library or Starbucks to get out of the heat
  • Limit your physical activities outside
  • Stay away from alcoholic beverages
  • Help those who may need it during these hot summer days

Most communities provide some aspect of relief - if you are not sure, contact the individual town Health Department.  Remember - stay cool!
