Get Those Rewards at Starbucks

Starbucks Coffee House.  Get with the program!

First, any self-respecting coffee addict has a Starbucks app on their iPhone or Android [newly released]. Not sure how to do it? Go to app store on your phone and search for Starbucks – download it [it’s free]. Any and all of the Starbucks gift cards you received can readily be loaded onto your SB app – so good bye cards!  No cash or card required – just your phone which gets scanned at check-out time. Second, it allows you to keep track of all your purchases. If you have a low balance, the app allows you to reload your account in seconds simply by having a credit card or debit card on file. Third and best, however, is the rewards system. Once you have an account with Starbucks, you earn rewards for each drink you purchase. After 15 rewards or stars, you received a “free-drink” postcard in the mail.  Here’s the CATCH – make each individual drink purchase separate. If you happen to be a regular in any one of the Morris  or Essex County stores – Morristown, Florham Park, Madison, East Hanover, South Orange, Roseland, or Parsippany – go ‘Dutch’ and remember to have the clerk register and scan  each drink individually. If you pay for 2 drinks on with your phone [app], you only received 1 star or reward. So why not take advantage of a good thing and pay separately – earn those free drinks and have a cup of coffee on me!
